Should have my Spektrum DX3E DSM 3Ch Surface Radio (w/S200 Servo) in hand tomorrow. Although I've heard good things about the radio I've not heard anything about the included servo...
Anyone have any knowledge of this servo, or personal experience with it?
I would also like to know if there is a suitable use for it on my Maxx, reverse, throttle, steering???
I did do a bit of checking on the specs and it boasts more speed and torque than the stock servos I have.
Regards,
Rob.

I wouldn't use it as a steering servo. I might consider using it as a throttle/brake servo.

I just bought a DX3E yesterday and that servo is already in the junk drawer It looks to be about 10oz of torque w/ a 30 min travel time:hehe:

Well,,, as I'm literally waiting from the Fed-Ex truck to come down my street I had another look at the numbers...
The Traxxas 2055 claims Torque:80 oz/in, but couldn't find a speed listed.
The Spektrum S200 claims Torque:100 oz/in, Speed:0.13sec.
I just thought maybe someone had bolted one on and gave it a try? I guess I'll have to be the first to try it,,, or just have it on hand for a spare.
Regards,
Rob.

Wow I never bothered to look up the specs on that servo just because it looked cheap, 100 oz torque isn't bad though @ .13 if you have a buggy or something in need of a throttle servo.

Due to an unfortunate series of events (no servo saver and a bit of contact with a curb) I found myself in the unique position of being able to try out the Spektrum S200 servo for my steering servo...
It has WAY more torque than the traxxas 2055 I was running. Enough to actually turn the wheels sitting still on the ground using AA batteries, which the 2055 wouldn't even come close to.
I wish I has two more just like it and plan to look for a second one for my throttle & brake. I believe it would be the stopping power I'm looking for.

Rob.

It's been line of sight on both my DX 3.0 and my DX3s. I can drive my rigs as far as I can see them.

That's about as far as I need to go... I haven't found the limit on mine but have drove it as far away from me as I want to at about a block away.
Regards,
Rob.

i have the dx3.0 with z270 and z590hitorque servos. when i first got mine it seemed complicated allthe settings but once i figured it out its not so bad. i love it. i havent been out of range yet and have never had any problems. it is very responsive so i have the sens. turned down for the steering. you should love yours.
