RC Driving Style
Hey guys, I did the search but didnt quite find exaclty what I was looking for. I am thinking about getting a mamba 6800 motor for my rc18mt. I am not going to be getting lipoly anytime soon unless I win the lottery or something. I was planning on using the stock pack, or maybe getting a GP1100 pack. I would be using deans. Just a couple of questions:

-What run times can I expect with the stock pack? GP1100?

-Compared to the stock 370 motor, how will this compare? 2 times the speed?

Your help is much appreciated. Thanks
-Pat

Kind of a wast if you ask me.
Its like investing in a full blown race car and saying I can't afford the proper fuel. What kind of performance will I get if I run fuel from the gas pump at my local stop and rob.

Here is a little info i found when i was making my choice on what batteries i was going to use, as for run times with the stock pack your looking at 10-15 minutes if you go Li Po you can see run times any where from 45 minutes to 1 hour or 2 depending on what size mah battery your going to use.

Performance Comparison of Different Packages
Sport Package: 4200 Kv Performance Package: 5400 Kv
Stock Gearing on Mini-T Stock gearing Mini-T
3 cell Lipo = 32mph 3 cell Lipo = 40mph
2 cell lip or 8 cells = 25mph 2 cell Lipo or 8 cells = 33mph
6 cells = 17mph 6 cells = 20mph
Competition Package: 6800 Kv Competition X Package: 8000 Kv
Stock gearing Mini-T
3 cell Lipo = 50mph
2 cell Lipo, or 8 cells = 40mph With a 2 cell lip pack, or 8 cells = 48mph
6 cells = 27mph 6 cells = 32mph
The higher the Kv, the faster the motor/car will run, the more amps it will draw, and lower runtimes. Speed can also be adjusted with gearing as well. The speeds
quoted come from stock spur, and the stock pinion, so faster or slower speeds are easily attainable with a gearing change.
A very good 6 cell or 7 cell racing set-up with long runtimes, and also the best
racing set-up for running 2 cell lips. The most versatile of all the combos for
both racing, and insane speed runs with a 3cell Lipo pack. Troy has a video of
this motor running on his site: www.b-p-p.com that most have seen already.
With the stock gearing and a 3cell lip pack, one of our Mini-T's has
been confirmed at over 60mph.
The best choice of the serious racer. Very flexible via gearing for 2 or 3
cell Lipo packs for track use. Very long runtimes for bashing/practicing on
6 cell packs - not particularly fast on 6 cells, but a TON of torque, and lots
of fun. 3 cell Lipo runs are still MUCH faster than any brushed motor
option out there, and longer runtimes as well, due to the increased
efficiency.
Most likely, the best 6 cell all-purpose racing setup. Good runtimes and
speed. A little hot for racing w/more than 6 cells, but still VERY capable
of ridiculous bashing speed runs on 8 cells, or 3s Lipos.
Basically, this motor is almost unusable for actual racing, unless
you've got a really big oval track, or will ONLY use 6 cells or less!
Also - drive train parts at these speeds most likely will have a
reduced lifespan - stock up on diff sets!
Hope this helped out.
