For a touring car, the metal geared servo is fine. To turn the front tires of the revo ... NOPE! Those tires are going to strain that servo and eventually make it fail. You will need a high torque servo with decent speed.

A few guys that run savages and other monster trucks at my LHS swear by the Futaba 9351. It's High torque, digital coreless and very good speed. It's a bit pricey ($109 USD) but well worth the investment. Click HERE

SPECS:Speed: .13 sec/60° @ 6.0V
Torque: 192 oz-in @ 6V
Weight: 2.1 oz (61g)
Length: 1.57" (40mm)
Width: 0.8" (20mm)
Height: 1.44" (36.6mm)

There is also the popular Hitech HS-945MG Click HERE
It's not as expensive but still good specs. Analog instead of Digital coreless.

that exactly what i wanted to know thanks mate I'm gonna do a bit of research on those servos try get a decent one on my budget.

I went with the HItech 945MG and i have to say it does the job brilliantly, steering response is much better than the two std stock servo's..

More than enough grunt for the job and speedy too... and even better no annoying noises as the old servo's were always having a tug of war competition..

Good luck with the convertion, you won't regeret it...

Have you done the FOC yet ??

I've heard nothing but good talk on the 945mg i think my mind is nearly made up.

yeah i did the foc the other night waiting for a pullstart to arrive so haven't tested it out yet.

ok fingers crossed my DX3 should be arriving on monday my throttle servo as just died on me for the record its a Blue Bird bms 620mg lastd two short runs absolutely gutted...

now I'm not in the position to by a new servo right now but i have the two stock servos and the dx3 servos on there way which ones would be better for a throttle servo in the time being.?

Also, consider the HiTec 645. Have one in my Revo and Savage and they run about $40.00 US or so.

IMO, either the stockers or DX servos will work just fine for your throttle servo.
