Yes, the ref should be banned from refereeing another game again but for comedic value you can't beat that.

well there is a video on ESPN sports center that says teh SEC defended the ref actions and that he was simply taking a defensive approach. My opinion the QB was of no harm to him and he stepped into him. But what the hell does my opinion matter.

I guess one way to interpret this, is that he got himself in the wrong place and braced for impact.

Seems to me though the foot shuffle he was doing was more like he was trying predict where the QB was going and he stepped ahead into him instead of stepping back or to his left he seems more on the offensive then on the defensive.
