i ran my savage 25 saturday night,
ran fine till i went to refuel it,
then it would start & die, then wouldn't start at all.
i ran the roto start dead then noticed the allen scews for the roto start had fell out.
is this related to it's poor running ?
is there an air leak with the roto start loose ?

i just bought a stainless steel screw kit for hpi,
does anyone if the screw kit comes with the screws for the rotostart ?
i haven't even opened it yet,
guess i will find out this week when i get time

thanks

eric

the rotostart has nothing to do with the poor running. one suggestion was the motor overheated?? that happened to me a lot of times. also was it really cold outside?? sometimes if its too cold it will be kinda hard to start.

Or, if the rotostart assembly backed off the engine enough, the one way bearring may not have been doing its job.

Was the engine turning over?

Ya know I had the problem of the engine starting and dying on me, as soon as I would take off my glo igniter it would do this. I put in a new glo plug and retuned. I put the glo plug back in later and had no issues. In short I think the thing was running too lean. My 21BB seems to run between 250 to 280 and the picco seems to run between 220-250. Newbie I say check for air leaks as well. This could be half of the problem.

I also had a problem running and dying. It turned out to be a tear in my tubing (ouch! (not that tubing)) from my muffler to the gas tank. No pressure to the tank, it would simply run out of gas!

It sound that your glow plug is bad.You should replace that and check fuel tubeing and go from there.
