I am guessing there is a reason why 95% of the ST racers use 1 piece solid wheels. What is the reason, compared to say something like HPI 5 star wheels?

The two reason I've come accross are;

1. The solid wheels are stronger. I'm not sure if that is true but it stands to reason that they are. Are the 5 star strong enough...Yes.

2. Dirt will build up in the spoked rims. Again, is this true...probably....does it build up more in the spoked vs. the solid...yeah....does it make a bit of difference....If your name is Kanai or Drake yeah......99.8% of racers....NO!

Just my opinions and what I have read.

Mr T

I was thinking air resistance. The dish wheels have less air resistance. Thats also why you see the cars on the salt flats with dish wheels instead of spoked.

I was making the same guess about air resistance like the salt flat cars - saw one the other day and was wondering that.
