I'm in the beginning stages of looking at solar power for my house.

Does anyone have an experience with it or have any knowledge on the subject to share?

I'm in sunny CA and have been told that my house and usage patterns are ideal for solar. I would be able to bank enough electricity during the day and summer months that I would have a 0 electric bill.

The government will foot 50% of the cost of parts and installation bringing the total to around $15,000 out of pocket. at $225.00 a month for my electric bill it will only take about 5 years to pay for itself, not to mention the increase of value to my home and tax credits.

It all sounds to good to be true and I'm looking for the down side.

Any info or help would be great.

My Wifes parents Have it but the issue is you got to make damn sure you get enough Sun for it man. IT was a big deal here in OK about 15 years ago. I guess its ok the problem is we have so many hazy cloudy days that it doesn't work all the time...X
