Both. SOCOM I and SOCOM II were my favorites. While I really don't enjoy playing III that much, it just takes time to get used to the diffrent physics. I like the suppresion and demo maps, the convoy just seems weird. And the extract, I can't seem to figure that one out.
My SOCOM III Name is (underscore)TWEAK(underscore) no spaces. For those of you that are verified send me an invite and we can rock. My clan, NON-Applicable is accepting players and has been around for about three years now, so you might wanna join up.
As for Jmarzilli's question, you play both co-op and against others. If you are a "Seal" you have to kill "terrorists" and vice-versa. there are at least two people in the game, but not exceding 32 players totall. SCOM II only allowed 16 total, and the maps are freaking HUGE. you will get lost for hours.
there are several diffrent types of maps.
1: Demolition- the standard find a bomb, plant it and defend for thirty seconds until demo. Can be achieved by either side.
2: Extract- Find three "hostages" take controll of them and lead them to one of several extraction points. or safety. Can be achieved by either team as well.
3:Suppresion- kill anything and everything that looks like an enemy. team with most players wins.
4: Convoy- Move three heavy, slow trucks to a "loading zone" load them, then move to extract. Terrorists are trying to load em, seals are trying to destroy em. simple.
5: Respawn- die as much as you like in 20 minutes, because for that time you will keep coming back to life to exact vengance on your enemies.
