I just picked up a t-maxx in trade for some work i did. just ordered rpm bulkheads and skid plates. Put a big bore pipe on it. engine is broke in (2.5) not looking to compete just have fun. Dont really want to dump a TON of money into it but want it to be fun. Any advice is great

if you got the bulks and skids you might as well get the arms too. that should make it pretty tough. how does the engine run?

cool i will check out those arms tomorrow. It seems to run fine but now my starter is not working.

the board inside the starter is broken. I have an electronic buddy that looked at it and said it can't be fixed just better to buy a new one.

Pick up a separate, rechargeable ignitor. The engine will start easier and the wand battery will last longer, since it's only spinning the engine. These wands are known to fail. You'll be money ahead by picking up the ignitor and just using the wand for cranking duty.

I have also been told to keep a pull start around. It save precious bashing time instead of a LHS run.

As long as the engine runs right, there's really no reason for either a pull start or ez start to fail, though spares are always a good idea. What will need maintenance is the one way bearing. It's easier to get at in the field with a pull or roto start.

Its never fun trying to start a nitro with a bad one way bearing!
