I've been out of rc since i burned up the motor in my rc18t just before school got out for the summer, but I'm finally getting back in! my savage just hasnt run in 6 months and I'm finally ordering the engine this friday after i pick up my pay check. I've narrowed down my search for the new engine between the picco 28 and the os 30. they both sound like good engines from what i have seen and read. I'm actually leaning toward the os 30 a little more though. what i was really wondering is if these both will fit into the stock 25 engine mounts on the savage 25.

thanks for your help,
grg

I realy like a 21 in trucks or truggys, they rev higher and get better run times, but if you must go big block the os is a killer motor with smooth throttle control,I would just keep a eye on the bearings or change them out after a gallon or so to be safe....

i really dont know that much about the types of engines, so i thought bigger was better. and you're saying change the bearings pretty much after break in?

I just installed a Axial .28 Spec 1s engine in my Sav 25. Lots of low end and pretty good top end also. Only ran a little over 100 bucks. Very happy with this engine so far. :)

the os engines are great just have bad bearings is all change them out to a high end just to get the most run time out of them....just my advice...

axial, bad bearings? i thought i heard something..i can't decide which engine.

Let me pick it hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!whats your budget that will help narrow it down???

sso the 21's are big enough to power savage's? my s25 didnt seem to have all that much power

hmm..i was just lookin around at the ofna stuff on amain and i found a jammin .28 and the picco .28. i hear a lot about the picco stuff, do they have any major problems?

Piccos are good motors. sometimes tend to airleak around the backplate, or carby area but bit of sealing takes care of that. the Jammin motors are made by picco, but have a very good quality. no issues at all with mine except burning glow plugs. i ll be switching to a HOT plug from a Medium one and that should help out i think.

In a MT like a Savage, I would skip the high winding race .21's. You want the grunt of a larger mill. That and they are cheaper too. I had a Picco .28, it was a BEAST. I know someone on here has one in theur Savvy, check the Savage forum.

If you want to go cheaper, this is not a bad mill

Or this is a GREAT mill, but I have never run one, only what I have read and heard

oh, ok thanks I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the picco .28, any bearing issues etc. i should know about? and will the stock pipe of the s25 fit the picco?
