They are better than the stock plasic pipe for sure but there is a lot better pipes out there. I have one some where. I ran it for a long time and it worked pretty well. Has a decent sound to it. Better than the annoying loud ribbed pipe.
 
Yeah anything is better than that plastic, anyways heres what i ultimately bought.

Bran new HPI pipe, not bran bran new but never used. I think the last buyer just had it sit in the packaging and then got rid of it. 14 bucks shipped. let me know what you think.

Also since the hanger is for an XL i had to just trim alittle off and fit in nicely. happy with it can't wait to start it up!

Just waiting on my shocks to get here and she will be back blistering the rock quarry.....i just hope i have better luck next time.....i posted a picture of a part that fell off my truck when i took it apart and can't for the life of me see where it goes back...can you take a look at it? Its right above this thread.

What kind of shocks you running, mine has a double shock setup at each corner and i have no idea which way is stock?

Well your truck is most likely a 2010 model. they didnt put the big bore shocks till just now on the savage. I personally like the dual shocks better, one good thing is the jatos spring fits on the savages shocks so when my springs were getting worn out i took the extra springs i had and just stacked them and now its not sagging anymore. ill check your thread and edit this post brb.

Yeah those fall off ALOT,i personally put body clips through them and then put zipties and then you dont have to worry about loosing them.

That is the stock pipe for the XL 5.9. I have never had any of those clips fall out and I have had some nasty nose dive landings or crashes to put it better from a good 10 to 12 feet in the air. Guess I have been lucky.
 
Yeah it said on the add it was for the XL, still better than the plastic IMO. And for me literally the first break in driving tank set it on my truck bed and when i was taking it out for the second driving tank i noticed it was laying there in the bed. so i had to make sure that doesn't happen again.
