Got the savage tuned and ran through about 5 tanks and it was running great. Then all of a sudden it wasn't doing so well. When i smash the gas it accelerates then go all the way down to idle then accelerates. It just keeps doing that as long as i have the throttle down. Just want some advice before i start spending money. what do you guys think it could be?

Could be several things. Does it do it anywhere you bash or do you only bash in one area? Do you have any steering issues at the time that it is going back to idle? Do you have a failsafe?

If you do have a failsafe I am wondering of you might have some radio interference. Try driving it in a new area and see if it goes away. If you don't have a failsafe we need to do some diagnostic work...

It seems like when it is going back to idle the steering doesn't want to work. I have messed around with it in 3 different locations and all places it does the same thing. I have a failsafe and i took it off and my truck goes crazy. If i hit the gas it takes off. But i put the failsafe back on and it continues to accelerate for about a second then stop and accelerate again. All the batteries are new and the hump pack is charged.

Sounds like you have either a damaged receiver and/or servos or some really bad radio interference.

Have you gotten the electronics wet, either with running in snow or through puddles?

I havent gotten it wet. But this all happened when when i did a wheelie and ripped the receiver antenna off. So i threw another receiver on it and it still does it. I guessing that maybe I have a bad throttle servo because if i put it on a stand and manually open up the throttle it accelerates and shifts fine.

Try another receiver. And check the wiring between the receiver and the servos. Sounds like something got messed up in that crash. If the receiver you replaced yours with has an antenna that is too short that could be the issue. I assume the crystals are the same in the RX and the TX?

yea it is the resiver mine was doing the same thing i called hpi and they gave me a new one free it worked

receiver lol

Found out what the problem was....all i had to do was get new crystals. Such an easy fix but such heartache.
