I was out and had a great time bashing. any way when i was done i turned off my electronics and proceded to do after run procedure but I could hear a slurping sound coming from the engine. it was a quiet but promenent slurp/sucking sound.
Do I have a problem or is this normal. I have a Savage .25

I think it was fuel boiling in the carb. if so. You may be running a little rich. Nothing to worry about.

your right but rich isnt the problem

temps were just about high causing the fuel to evaporate as it enters the carb. this happens a lot (to me anyway) and a lot of times needs to cool down a bit before starting it up again is an option

I was running a 230 and when i heard the slurp I moved the flywheel with my finger and i took off the airfilter and opened up the carb, and it still had the sound, then the temps whent down to 110 and it stoped, it didnt effect my running or tunning so it is not a real problem I was just curious as to why it was doing that.

thanks guys

i think it normally only happens when the engine is off because when its running it creates a suction the pulls in the fuel and air but when the fuel is just sitting in a metal case at 230, it starts boiling.

no problem, not much to worry about

just the unburnt fuel boiling of course at 220 degrees it's going to make a boiling sound if combustion is not occuring. your cool and good to go. glad you had fun and didn't break anything.
