i need to know what could make my gt go faster its about 3 years old and is completey stock.

thx

faster accel

yea motor runs fine i got out f rc hobby for a year now I'm back into it only thing i need is a glowplug

You could drop a tooth or two on your clutch bell, but that will kill your top end. You could get a new engine with more power...I guess it comes down to what you want to spend.

yea, like vbgagnon said... It all depends on what you are willing to spend.

If you could spend around $100, get yourself a brand new O.S. 18 CV-Rx engine from towerhobbies. That will get you faster acceleration and better top end than the stock GT engine.

BTW: I sent you a private message rc10nitro, and Welcome to the forums!

yea, IMO atleast. I recently started a thread about this on my gt. I have a .12 CV in mine and I am wanting faster acceleration. I could either gear differently, but then loose top end, or vise versa. I would say your best bet would be to go with the .18 CV-Rx for $99 at towerhobbies...

I would say that a new mill would be a good idea, but if you dont have the money to upgrade, make due with what you have. As soon as you get more power, other things are going to break. I would upgrade other things before the engine, to ensure durability with the new engine. As soon as you go faster, you break faster (learned that the hard way). I have found the stock turnbuckles to be a weak point. Titanium turnbuckles are a good way to go (Lundsford makes a good set). Also, i would go with some RPM ball cups on those turn buckles. If possible, get some RPM a-arms all around with a rear RPM bulkhead. The only other thing i can think that you might need is CVDs. They make the truck a lot smoother and they dont fly out and get lost like those damned dog bones. Now, if you dont have money for all of that, replace as you break the stuff... Oh, i forgot to mention... FAILSAFE!!!

Good luck man. Welcome to RCNT. PM me if you need anymore help. I know rc10gt's pretty well.

I agree with 21Rc10GT, you need to upgrade the strength of the truck first before you decided to upgrade the engine. I ran a stock GT for a long time (original black tub chassis and all). Let a friend drive it and ended up replace most of the front end and chassis. I went with the blue anodized team chassis. Had to change a few things in order to do that (new brace mounts and engine mount). After that, i started racing it and found that the stock dog bones and turnbuckles SUCK. I replaced them with MIP CVD's (bout 35 bucks) and the Lunsford titanium turnbuckles (bout 30 bucks). Best upgrades i've ever made to it. It runs an O.S. CV-R engine and it's got enough power for most tracks. I also upgraded to RPM ballcups and RPM rear bulkhead. The last thing i suggest you do is change the rear turnbuckle camber link from ball cups to captured ends (i used Associated shock ends). I kept having problems with the ball cups poping off everytime i came into a hard turn from a straight. Solved that problem tonight actually. Good luck with your GT.

Actually I have had good luck with the AE engine, It is a .15 and has plenty of power. It may be a tuning issue. It could be the glow plug you are using as well, if the plug is not the right heat range for the engine it will not have the power it should. Try a MC59 glow plug, and retune the engine w/ the new plug in.

alright I'm suppose to get a new tommorrow so ill try that thx
