  1. Bashing
I was goofin with my truck last night (looking like an over grown kid) lifting the front end and just spinning one of the wheels with my finger when I noticed that the left front tire would slightly bind every now and again, upon closer inspection I realized that the dogbone was slightly bent toward the outer ball, so today I took it out of the truck and put it in a vise and staightened it, has anyone else had this problem with dogbones or have they just snapped or twisted? Hmmm maybe I'm just not bashing hard enuff!

Not uncommon for them to bind and end up bending....

Such is metal in this hobby.

Good catch on spotting it and fixing it BEFORE something bad happened.

Thanks, I was thinking that it was going to snap when I was trying to straighten it, but it didn't thankfully, I'm going to buy a complete set of them (as well as some other parts) to have on hand just incase.

If you stick with the dogbones, I suggest the Chromed HPI ones. They are heavier duty than the stock and work very well. Inexpensive too!

Yea I was looking at the HPI heavy duties($39.95 a pair) , but I gotta chill on my spending for a little, otherwise the wife is gonna :whack: .........well you know what I'm saying lol. Have you seen the ones that have something in the way of a CV or universal joint on them?

Hly cow! 40$ a pair of just dogbones? No, those arent the ones I'm talking about. Ill find them.

Yes on the CVD's. Dynamite and I think HotBodies makes a full set.

LOL that's what I thought too, kinda spendy for dogbones. What do you thing about the CVD's? Ever used them?

I run CVD's in my TMaxx and they are absolutely AWESOME! However, I can't vouch for how strong they are in a Savage. No doubt though, they will run smooooth and tight.

CVD's wont pop out and disappear either.

Here are the HPI heavy Duty Dogbones I was talking about:

Cheaper than the ones you were talking about. Not sure which ones you had your eye on, but I'm going to assume they were CVD's

Cool! Thanks! The price is much better too, I think I can convince the wife to let me get a set of those.

Just hide the receipt like I do! Then play stupid when she finds them, or shred them, even better yet burn em!:flamer:

Yeah, or just throw the receipt away when you walk out of the store. I just end up leaving them in my work van. That's usually when I get my parts. Usually after work on the way home or something. I think I got my HPI chrome doggies for $30 for a set of 4. They come in pairs, $15. Worth it in my opinion. Haven't snapped or bent them yet. Managed to break the rear center though. They didn't have any cheap ones, so I ended up with titanium ones. Ouch!! Those are expensive.
