Well, after leaving my air filter off the engine too long, it seems my slide carb's throttle got stuck, so it wont budge unless you push it with a flathead. Any suggestions?

Oh I forgot to say that. It was just sitting. I know not to run my car without my air filter, lol. I'll try that. If that doesn't work, I'll let you know.

Are you saying 'off while the car sat' or 'off when you ran it?'
If it's from sitting, you'll need to take the barrel out and clean it with some denatured alcohol. Same goes for the inside of the slide. The oil from the fuel has dried and gummed it up. It might take a tank or two of fuel running through it before it starts to perform again, since the same gum is on the con rod bushings.

it wont hurt,it will lube the slide and its probably just oil residue from the nitro fuel stickin it.once it starts it will blow right out the exhaust. I've done it before.

Lol okay. This won't harm the engine right? This is what I'm planning to do.

Take out carb and clean it with denatured alcohol. Put it back on and spray some WD40.

you dont have to remove the carb, just take the filter off and shoot a FEW shots of wd40 on the slide. no it will not harm the engine. when i store an engine for a period of time, i remove the filter couple shots of wd40 down the carb and remove the glowplug and shoot a couple shots down the cyclinder. when I'm ready to run, i just gas up and go. been doing this for along time now. i have a s-.25 in a savage with about 15 gallons through it and will still flip it on its lid backwards from a standstill, hit the brakes and it usually uprights its self.

Alright, I tried WD40. It didn't work. Should I just take off the carb and spray it onto the whole thing (the slide)?

How does one remove the carb slide? I've looked and looked at it, and don't see how! :) I have two carbs, and ONE of them has an o-ring that won't seat due to a busted carb body, I found, which MAY be the source of my high idle / air leak?

The other carb is in pristine condition, but the slide sticks pretty bad. Anyone know how to remove this for inspection? :)

You'll need to remove the idle adjustment screw, since it's locked into a track. Once that's backed out, it should pull straight out.

HAHAHA I found out JUST figured it out before reading the post - thanks a billion man, this is gonna make life much easier. :)
