I bought a Team Orion Wasp .18 slide carb engine, and the part that the steering linkage connects to on the engine is stuck. I can move it in and out, but I can't turn it to make the carb opening open and close. Is there some sort of safety feature that comes with the carb that makes it so the carb doesn't move until you unscrew something or disable it? Help!

Thanx in advance,

did u happen to turn the idle adjustment screw and tighten it down too far? i have a Wasp .18 and havent had a problem with it.

Maybe I'm missing something here. You have a slide carb, and you can move it in and out, but you can't turn it. A slide carb ONLY moves in and out. A rotory or barrel carb turns.
Have you moved the idle screw out at any time? If you moved it out, and it came out of it's track, then closing the idle would now prevent any movement. Also, as Maxx Trooper says, it just might be in too tight.

lol.. it just hit me. he thinks the slide carb does the same movement as a rotary carb. a rotary carb turns a slide carb slides.. in a out. dependin on what vehical u are running it in u might have to change the throttle and brake linkage.

nice catch Rolex i wasn't thinkin. lol.

oh..... lol, i guess that seperates the newbs from the experts :loser: . I didnt know that. SO, knowing that, how do I set up my t-maxx's stock steering linkage to be able to move that carb in and out???

do u have a .15 maxx or the 2.5. the 2.5 engine is set up for a slide carb. the .15 is set up for a rotary carb. i got pic of my wasp .18 slide carb in my t-maxx but they are a regular pic.. not digital.so i will have to go old school and scan them.....

I have the old maxx with the .15 pro in it. What is the cheapest way to convert the linkage or get a package?

i will get pic of what my linkage looks like tomorrow.. I'm too tired now. basicly moving the throttle servo and fuel tank...

K thanx, I'm so excited to get the engine running. I can't wait to switch around that linkage (especially if its free).

well i bought this throttle linkage kit http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBM06&P=7 and then used the old throttle linkage as a break linkage. u had to also reverse the servo, drill 4 holes in the chassis, and i make my brake arm longer.

pic.(i know the pic sucks because it was takin by a disposable camera and i dont have my t-maxx to take good digital pic.)

I think I caught another one here.......Why would you want your STEERING linkage to move your carb? Most people use a throttle servo linkage.

Just funnin' with ya since I saw you had it figured out. I've done carb reversals on both my engines, which required reversing and changing linkages, so if you need any more info, I'll be here.
