when installing a new piston sleeve do you need to re-break in the engine.

Does anyone know where i can get a truckzilla .46 con rod?
i can get the sleeve from tower

I want spares because i want to try and modify my engine
(knife-edge con rod, port sleeve and crank etc)

Thanks in advance

Yes you MUST rebreak in the engine. Its like a new engine after the new piston and sleeve.

yes, you do have to re break in the engine... So you want to buy a new sleeve for a spare? Because if you have a compression problem, you can just get it repinched for about $15 through rayaracing and osrocket.

yes, because when u break in a new engine, its soul purpose is to stretch out the sleeve a little bit, and let the piston/sleeve fit right. when you get a new piston/sleeve, its just like getting a new engine.

The break-in of an engine will hone the piston and sleeve to get a matching fit. That's why you always have to get them in a set and break them in again.

thanks for the breakin stuff
does any one know where i cna get the con rod from?

does any one know how to get the con rod + piston + sleeve and the crank out?

take off the engines head by the 4 set screws...and take off the backplate.

tried that the crank needs to slide out but can't come out because the con rod comes off the same way. the crank needs to go further in to disconnect the con rod

The sleeve has to come out before the con rod can slide off the crank. With the sleeve out, the rod should slide right off, and you can drop the piston / con rod out the top and slide the crank out the side.

ok thanks

how do you get the sleeve out? i have tried the zip-tie method but could only get it out about 3mm then it wouldn't budge
