i just ordered a slash 4x4 the other day so i could go to the weekly races in town. it;s a indoor track that is carpeted. Today when i talk to the guy at our local r.c. shop he said the slash 4x4 would be no good for races indoors on carpet. he said "it won't be fast enough around the corners", wont turn as sharp as the 4x2. is he full of s--t or will the 4x2 out perform the 4x4 on carpet.

Well i say it's not up to the car it self but the driver speed isn't what makes you faster tuning your suspension to get around the corners and know how to set up your truck is what counts . But all in all it's about how you drive and your skill .

It shouldn't make a difference but it might kick out less than a 2wd slash but if you feel you want it to be 2wd you can just take of the front driveshafts.

but peformence wise i would think the 4x4 would pull through the corners better wouldn't you

for carpet id go with a 2wd cuz it will slid out more and the 4x4 will grip a lot meaning fast corners have a high risk of flipping..but it all comes down to driving skills

I've heard that the stock 4x4 tires don't get traction worth crap on carpet, but that's just what I heard on another forum.

here they're not racing 4WD with the 2WD SCTs anyhow

4X4 is a different sriving style to 2WD
