Hey Sky i was just wondering what kind of video camera do you use for all of your footage? Cause i love watching the vids and would like to make my own, but lack of cam does create a prob.
I was thinking about looking for one or seeing if my friend had one or something and maybe what one of the cheaper movie editing programs would be. Cause i have always loved taking vids of stuff, i go snowboarding with my friend who is sponsored even though i dont snowboard but i do it to film him cause he needs film for his sponsor but lack of people who want to waste their time filming instead of boarding. (Its his camera though) and for this stuff i need digital and that gets spendier. And takes more space as far as saving it digitally. So multiple memory cards are probably a must right.
I just think taking a friend to film when i take my car out would be so awsome then showing it to the friends who couldnt be there is cool. Thanks for the info.

they make a really small cam for r/c airplanes that you can watch on a monitor on the ground, mmmmmm, drivers view taped???

I use a SONY DCR TRV-8. It is a digital 8 camcorder. Great camera.

There are a number of great cameras out there. You just need to figure out how much you can afford, and what software you want to use. A lot of cameras these days come with some rudimentary film editing software, but you may want something better.

I am but one forum member who shoots, edits and produces his own videos. Error401 generates some great stuff, and he has an onboard camera for his Savage. You should check out the video section of this site, you'll see a bunch of good stuff. Not to mention, I have a feeling the site will be flooded with footage of the Bash in Buffalo from this past weekend.

For programs, I Suggest the Pinnacle Studio DV Version 7. I own it and can vouch for its quality. It might be a little pricy (over $100bones) but it sure is worth it. None of you seen my rc footage because noone is ever there to take video or bash with me. Thats okay because I have made and deleted several "music videos" and "fishing simulations" and stuff of the sort. A Sony camera is also something I have. Sony makes good stuff and a digital 8 is a real quality camera. Just make sure you dont go too overboard on the prices-just because its expansive, doesn't mean its good.(It does alot of the time)

I'm not even gonna get off on the software thing again. lol. SHK, learn to drive with 1 hand, and run the cam with the other. Don't look thru the cam, just set it on wide angle and point it in the right direction. Get some tape dude!!!!!!

Sky, thanks, I have too much time, and sleep dep is cool.

Whitt...

I'm going to put the camera on a table and try to drive in front of the table and launch over it. Sounds like good footage?

I tried a static cam once. I thought I was getting some good footage, but half of it turned out to be out of frame. The table jump would be a cool shot, been done, but still cool. Get a few shots looking at the truck kind of head on, then some 90 degree to the ramp angle as the truck hits the ramp then a fast fade to the under the table as the truck flys off the ramp, but get the landing or it'll look screwed up with the truck disappearing out the bottom of the frame. But you'll still need some other shots to make a decent interesting video. Monotony bad, variety good. Best thing I could suggest is film a bunch and take the good parts and make a video. You'll get it.

Whitt....

How about I make a funny video, I love chasing my sister with my rustler and my savage. She always hides behind something so I lose but It would be Damn Funny with some Benny hill theme songs in the background.
Hows that sound?

Go for it, I haven't seen one done like that. Would be different.
