Thats the pipe I run I my Sirio .18 tx and it works great. Mine is blue to match the head not black. I have not tried another pipe with that engine so can't comment there, but I am sure Sirio desiged it to work specifically with that engine. It sounds beefy also.

so what pipe are you using?

Oh well i got 220.00 dollars and what do I need to get it to run right replacing my old pro 15. what kind of starter do I need what kind of linkage do I need? and what kind of pipe do I need?

I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you lucky biotch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

any hoo you need Pipe Throttle linkage/belcrank, You have 2.5 chassis so no drilling holes umm 2.5 eZ start or pullstart (your preference) you need the 2.5 clutch nut and am I going to be putting all this on?????:sniper:

now you are going to kick my arse even worse in drag races....

sirio or 2.5 pipe doesn't matter 2.5 pipe is cheaper....

HOLY CARP ALL THAT I can't AFFORD THAT SHITE You can put the cluch on I think i can do the rest.

What kind of glow plugs do I need for it? So I need

1.2.5 tunded pipe the other is too $$$
2.Throttle linkage/belcrank
3.pull start what kind?
4.2.5 clutch nut?

I've got the Sirio .18 (8 port) in my first gen T-maxx. It's a great engine. The bottom end of the engine isn't where this engine shines (it's comparable to my proted out .15 pro), it's the top-end where the real difference is. The engine SCREAMS! My buddy has a Savage with the stock .21 and I can beat him in a race all day long.
Here's about what I spent:

Engine- $199.
2.5 conversion kit - $45
2.5 motor saver air filter - $20
flywheel nut - $0.44 (home depot special-- 7mm if you need one)
one way bearing - $20
pullstart - $20
plus some odds and ends i can't think of now.....in the end i spent just under $400....a lot more than i thought when I started! but, it's a great engine and I'd reccomend it to anyone.

ohh yeah, screw getting the $7 clutch nut from Traxxas.....like i said above, $.44 for 5 of them at Home Depot. 7mm.

WOW you can get them at Home deopet sweeet thats were iam getting myne. Dude you beat a savage WOW! What kind of pull start did you use?

I use the T-maxx 2.5 pull start....there may be another you can use, but I don't think so.... the pull start has to clear the rear exhaust and it's a pretty tight fit. If you decide to go with the E-Z Start, you'll have to get the E-Z Start 2 system. Overall, you'll spend about $20 more VS the pull start. The pull start is less weight, and less drag on the engine, so that's why I went with it....not to mention the $20 lol.
Good luck,
Bryan

ya iam getting a pullstart then. Hey humboldt how did you break your sirio in or did it come with instructions?

I broke it in like I did my .21 Sirio which the instructions actually were done by Star-motors the engine maker. The .18 came with instructions from Trinity and they differed a little. I ran first tank at idle then for four more tanks I ran low rpms no more than a quarter throttle. as the tanks went on I did higher speed passes for a little longer. I used break in fuel on my .21 and it worked fine used the whole quart. Just wanted to try it as I had not used it before. I ran regular fuel on breakin for the .18.

yeah sort of. You should be ok, but they tell you to use MH break in fuel and then use only MH from then on out.

Monster Horsepower Break In Fuel Monster Horsepower Break In Fuel Monster Horsepower BreakMonster Horsepower Break In Fuel Monster Horsepower Break In Fuel Monster Horsepower Break In Fuel In Fuel BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH that's basically every other word in the instructions. BS. You don't need break in fuel. It's a waste of money. Don't use cheap fuel in an expensive engine...get some high quality fuel (the fuel you're going to use to run it normally), richen up the settings a bit and break it in with that according to the instructions.

BTW, the instructions are nothing more than a sales pitch to sell their brand.... not that they are bad fuels or anything, because they're not. It's just like how traxxas reccomends nothing but Top Fuel in their engines. If you were selling an engine with your name on it, wouldn't you pitch the fuel with your name on it too?

ya I was going to break it into Odonnell racing fuel. Mc runs Odonnell in his and it helps so I thought why not.:smoke: But How long are the instructions?

crap... I lost them.... they weren't but a couple of pages long. basically all it says is how to break it in, the factory needle settings and basic tuning techniques. man, if you get one you'll see.

as a side not, I recently got the Sirio pipe, but it's been raining here in Charlotte for a few days now (still raining a little but i'm tired of waiting) and i really haven't had much of a chance to test it out yet. i took it out about 30mins ago, and there is a noticeable improvement throughout the entire rpm range.....most noticable for me is the off the line punch! wooo hooooo get the pipe to go along with your new powerhouse!!!!!

btw, the sound is kickass. IT'S 6:30 IN THE AM AND I SAID WAKE UP DAMNIT!!!! HAHAHAAAAA I BET YOU LOVE ME NOW!!!

LOL ill get the sirio pipe when I get enough money or if I have enough. But sombody said the lowend kinda sucks on the sirio and if that pipe helps I will be able to blow Mc right out of the water:stick:

WTF!!! I was reading a thread on traxxas and they said getting the sirio wont help unless you get like a good clutch bell and a better spur gear I hope like heck they dont know what they are talking about. They guy was like well you will get there quicker but not faster WTF! dont tell me I have to buy new gears to DAMN!

haha, maybe i'm missing something here.....quicker but not faster... maybe faster by him means faster than quicker. interesting.....so 50% more power means only quicker? lol. he's missing some info in there.... maybe he's trying to say that the sirio will eat up the stock plastic spur.... hell i don't know. you don't need new gears unless you want to get them. it's like getting anything else for your toys....new pipe, header, cvd's, ect ect ect....every little bit counts, and it's all the little that adds up to the end result.

you know the way it goes... you can only go as fast as how much dinero you want to drop....

Well to start off this is KoRnKiD on MC's comp. Anyway after beaking the Sirio I found out the TRUE POWER of a sirio. Lets just say I can beat MC at half throttle. No wheelies yet but LOTS OF COOKIES!:D

Break in was easy, for the fiirst tank I let it idle. the second tank I let it idle for half of the tank and then started quarter throttle so on & so on. I found out after beak in that it is a big improvment from the Pro .15 and 2.5 , We still havent dragged but we will today. One thing that iam sure all of the people that have the Sirio they noticed that its a BIG gas guzzler. But it hauls. Anyway we will report back later.:dancin:
