I recently purchased the Sirio .23 and was wondering if I should upgrade my pipe from the Traxxas Hi Performance pipe to the Sirio Big Bore, or is there another Pipe you recommend.

TIA

siro makes a .23?? i never knew anyone made a .23. Or is that a typo which i think i prob is?

I wish you luck with the Sirio .23. I ran the .21 P2 Picco and a Sirio Pipe on it, and the pipe was fine, but the stock header off a T-Maxx is just so small that a long stroke motor has a problem breathing. I cooked a sleeve and piston after less then 2 gallons and it was all on the exhaust side. Tell me of how the .23 works out running the stock header after you put some fuel through it. The P2 was the first engine I have had problems with in a Maxx

Thanks for the replies.

I was looking into buying the Sirio .18, but when I called the company they told me about the 23. I thought I would give it a try. I'll give some feedback once I have it installed.

I think I'll order the Sirio BB pipe.

The .18 and .23 are two different styles, or types of engines, even though they are both Sirio. The .18 is a small block and I would say the .23 is a Mid block, meaning it is going to have a stroke like a big block, but a shorter crankshaft length. It should be a good engine, I am just wondering how it is going to work out with the small exhaust header the T-Maxx use. Oh, and everyone keeps saying about a Sirio BB Pipe,(which stands for Big Bore, not Big Block) unless they have come out with something new, that pipe was made for a small block, if we are talking about the Blue one, and is more for top end RPM. From what I have found it lacks in mid range power because of the high RPM design.

Ok I just got the sirio 23 and want to know if an 063, 086 or even a JP-1 pr JP-2 would suffice? Any opinions?

That's a good question jon, are you going to use a 1/8 scale buggy configuration? Pipe going out the side rather then out the back of the truck. I think new era offers a rear exhaust header for a big block to have rear exhaust. Also a big block style pipe for the revo. You should email them to find out. I hope by the time Traxxas comes out with their BB conversion kit, including the BB header, someone will make a nice BB pipe for the revo. Let us know what you use for exhaust and give us LOTS of pics.

Lol. Well since I am not getting the Revo its in my Maxx. I just want to get a decent pipe for the 23.

Sorry Jon, I misunderstood. The Sirio big bore seems like the ticket, in theis months rcca they did a test on the .23 with the sirio big bore and really seemed to like the pipe and the engine. Hey Ill trade you a Mammoth...three hockey cards and ......oooowww never mind LOL

Actually, they used a new Sirio pipe that is recommended for the .23. I would think that the BB would work OK, sice the stinger is pretty big, and the pipe has a good volume. :2cents:

The Sirio pie is just an optional pipe you can get but I think that the Big bore will do fine.

jon2, so what pipe did you end up going with? Also, what the heck does this mean?
