Has anyone tried this eng?? How does it run for you?? I just got one, set way rich out of the box would hardly run. Prob is the slid on the carb sticks. would the stock 3.3 Trax carb work?? Thanks in advance for your advice.

It is a little bit of a pain getting it dialed in, as I would assume you didn't get any instructions with it (I didn't get them), but once you get it there its awesome.
I wouldn't use the 3.3 carb for it. Instead, try lubricating it with some after run oil. Hopefully a couple drops on the slide will do it and you won't have to take it apart.

Make sure the carb is lined up properly with the linkage, too. Watch the engine mount. They're weak. At least the one I dealt with was. Broke right after break in. That engine rips, though.

Thanks, I did try lubing on the slide, not sure if it helped or not. Did notice that the screw that looks like an idle set screw if you turn it in it binds, turn it out and its okay??? To bad they dont send instructions or have a web page to explain things. What are your needels set at roughly?? Thanks again.

Glow plug was fouling up, changed it and got the tune good now. It runs good and strong now. What pipe are you guy's running?? I've got the 2chamber alum traxx pipe, and motor saver air filter. thanks.

I run a JP-3 on mine with an 1/8 HPI air filter. I've never run mine with the resonator, but I have seen a lot of posts where people complain about it choking the engine up and needing to go with an 1/8 scale pipe to get the best performance.
Sorry I can't help with the needle settings at the moment. I had to completely disassemble mine after loosing the air filter and aspirating some dirt. Here is a picture and another person to show the value of a zip tie.

I hope the dirt didn't completly destroy your eng!! My air filter fell off on me to this summer, had my 3.3 eng, happened at the end of a run and it started to run crappy right away so I caught it befor any damage happened.
Ran my Maxx with the .27 again today and wow!! It runs stronger and better with every tank of fuel. Going to try drilling out the stinger on my pipe to see if that helps it breath better. I'll let you know how it turns out!

I just bought one and it'll be a while before I fire it up but make sure you have a good spring setup to close the slide fully against it's stop screw.

I wouldn't use a resonator on anything but a .15 or smaller......VERY RESTRICTIVE.
