my stock throttle rod from the carb to the post does not reach....has anybody else had this problem? what did you do?

I have made a new one(throttle rod) with bushings on both ends but it seems to be too thick for this application. I dont understand why they put the mount on the opposite side than the 2.5.
id really like to get this beast up and running so any help would be greatly appreciated...

perhaps somebody has this setup and could postpics of you setup close ups of your carb to post throttle would be most helpfull...

thanks in advance for any help you give.

knemo77, it should reach. Not 110% on what you are trying to tell us. Have you tried reversing the carb.

nope its on the opposite side as the 2.5, from what i gather from researching it is you have to screw in a ball to the link and get a longer throttle rod that snaps in to both ends. I needs to be like a half inch longer than the stock rod.

in short its all about balls and rods..... .....i'll figure it out when i finally get all my parts and get it reassembled.

well...when i looked at the 2.5 pic online it seems to be on the same side???? I think the guy I bought it from did the conversion to the 2.5 style and drilled the holes for the linkage post in the wrong place.....stupid MF made a lot of mistakes that have taken me about a month to sort out, plus a bunch of new parts...no worry, I have a new chassis on the way ad i'll get this sorted out.

I'm just hoping I dont need a engine rebuild any time soon. I can see it now, get all this crapola fixed and it runs like a 80 year old grandma in a wheelchair.

I've learned a lot about overpaying for a item you know nothing about and having to troubleshoot something that is very unfamiliar to you....but I have learned a lot from these problems and this t-maxx has become like a kit for me and ended up costing me about 1000$.

yup thats my engine.....my new chassis i just recieved had the holes for the throttle post drilled in a way different place, like a half inch closer to the carb. That was definatly the problem....thanks for the pic.

now all i need is a new throttle servo, and a new one way bearing and i'll be up and running.

My Sirio TX .18 came with everythng too. Including a small rod with threads all the way across it and one white ball throttle linkage. You screw your old throttle linkage to one end, the new white ball linkage to the other and snap it on, it also comes with what I call an adapter for your throttle post. it screws to your stock throttle post (that's what I call it) and then you snap it on.
that's it in a nutshell. there's a couple of measurements that your suppose to go by. just make sure after it's all hooked up to test it.
