Just Wondering What this single steering servo bizzo was all about...??

I hear ppl sayin they will "upgrade" to single servo but i wld have thought an "upgrade" wld be changing from single to twin..??

Is It Hard to do..??
And what are the advantages..??
I'm also guessing you wld need a sweet servo to do the job of two...
What servo wld be suitable..??

Well usually people do it because they want to save weight and not run two servos, and to help balance the truck a little more. As for a servo to do the job, something with 200+ oz of torque will do. A few Hitec servos are rated at 333 oz of torque at 6v which is crazy!

Also - with two servos you can have a condition where the two aren't in sync and fight one another.

The torque rating for the Traxxas 2055 servo is somewhere between 80-86 oz-in @ 6V, so if you upgrade to one 200 oz-in servo there's several benefits and it's easy to do.

Exactly, and this will eventually cause them to burn out. However, to my surprise, I just killed a 2055 on my throttle/brake linkage.

Ok thanks guys :)

Well that makes alot of sense so thats all i need to hear...
I'm gonna start lookin for a strong servo and instructions on how to do it

thats what ill be doing to ;) ...ill be doing it on the one I'm running right now ...and on the one ill be starting to build from the ground up with a BigBlock ;) ( I'm only missing a couple small parts ..other than that , i have a complete revo in parts ;) ) :D...then i will have 2 revos to play with :D

on my revo i use a single servo
i use a traxxas 2070, 125oz in. @6v
I have no steering power issue's. i steers just as good as my stock revo w/ twin steering servo's.
