my flywheel keeps loosening =\
so i changed the collet.. re ran it and with the first start it was loose again.
so i just took it apart again and wiped off any oil(there was a good build up.
so my question is. besides the collet being bad. would oil be the problem? or could brake drag or somthing like that be a problem.

Try getting it really clean, slide the collet & flywheel on, & add a washer behind the clutch nut. Use some Blue loctite as well. Hold the flywheel with some channel locks, & really tighten down on that nut. Let the loctite cure for a few hours, & you should be good to go....

well its to dark now... ill see tomorow how it turns out =\ i just wanna drive my poor car

ok first day out with it running.. i have to thank the person with the low speed needle setting.. it was pretty much perfect.
the engine was letting off a nice cloud... so i dont think its lean.. but is it normal for the chassis to get almost as hot as the engine??? it was never that hot with my on road... just wondering. can someone post that tuning guide that was up a while ago? and is it normal for a tire to wobble a bit.

Also, is it normal for there to be no oil residue in the exhaust pipe after running it?

if you got smoke.. your good.. also.. the chassis on a nitro car.. is usually always metal.. cuz it will help in discipating heat from the motor..

tire wobble.. dont know bout that.. unless they are not glued right.. or you bent a wheel..

no oil residue in the pipe?? you mean oil coming out after a run. there should not be any.. as far as oil residue.. look on your body.. or on your back wheel on that side of the car.. see if there is oil residue on it.. if so.. your good..

The collet thing.. you may need a shim behind the collet between the collet and the bearing.. that will most likely solve your problem.. no need for a shim between the nut.. and the flywheel.. also did you cut the crank yourself or not..

yeah its all good now... its just i always see like "pipe plugs" so oil doesn't drip out.. and i know my on road car even did it while running extremely lean.. so i was just intrested... problems solved :)
