For the life of me I can get my sidewinder to function properly with my radio. I'm still using the stock radio gear. Any programming tips? Also my computer is downloading the castle software so i can't use the link. I get throttle, no brakes or reverse. Not a lot of throttle either.

yeah, get that linked up to your computer and you will beable to get it setup right...is this on a slash? what motor and lipo or nimh?

The link software isnt downloading. Stupid windows

Are you using it with a brushed or brushless motor? It comes pre-programmed for brushless, so if you are using a brushed motor you MUST reprogram it or you will damage the esc.

As SNG mentioned, you will also need to program whether you are running lipo or nimh.

Also, if you are running Vista on your pc you will have to follow Castles instructions to get the castle link to work, the disc that comes with it is useless for Vista.

I have Vista 64bit and downloaded the software. The special instructions for Vista amounts to right clicking the installation icon and selecting, "run as administrator". It installed with no issues whatsoever.

yep run it as administration and you should be good to go.

if this is on a slash and he's still running the stock radio then he doesn't have epa's, just trim.

Wrote that while at work. I'm referring to the ESC/Receiver calibration...

Holding full throttle on your transmitter, turn the switch ON.
A. After a few seconds you’ll hear multiple tones and the red LED will come on.
B. Now hold full brake and after a few seconds you’ll hear multiple tones and the yellow LED
will come on.
C. Now relax to neutral and after a few seconds you’ll hear multiple tones and ALL the LEDs
will light up.
D. A few seconds later the ESC will arm with a double tone and you’re ready to go!

I have xp home. Followed the instructions but I never got a red led, it just goes to yellow then goes, no brakes, no reverse. If i could get the castle program to run id be ok. Sigh.

What happens when you try to download the Castle software?

Zero your throttle trim and reverse the throttle channel.

Set the throttle to 50/50 on the transmitter. Then try again.

You can adjust these settings without castle link, if it's like the 1/18th systems anyway.

I tried all that, i wish it was that simple.

When i download the software it says something about a package error. Same with the cd.

Castle support and customer service is, for my money, the BEST available.
