Hey all...I've had my Revo 3.3 for about a month now, and its the first time I've ever had a nitro truck and let me tell you, its freakin' frustrating!!! I will run it for a good 30 to 40 mins, then shut it down like I've read everywhere, and the next day, when I go to start it, it won't start. I replaced the glow plug, and the ez-start will work, but then sometimes it won't...so I got a glow stick for the glow plug and used the ez-start wand and boom, it starts...but what seems to happen is after I run it, it kills the glow plug! I've run it 3 times and have had to replace the glow the plug every time. I've set the motor to factor specs and it still kills the plug after one run...the truck is great, it has a bunch of RPM hop-ups, an FOC, newer rims and tires, brand new header and muffler, but I think I'm done and probably going to go electric for now...not sure what I'm doing wrong..I've gone to my LHS and all he says to do is call Traxxas...any suggestions besides calling traxxas???
Sorry to vent, just frustrated...thanks

Sounds like its all in your tuning, they can be frustrating, but if your really into nitros and truly love running them and 'Tinkering" then you will get better, but if you dont enjoy any of that then its probably best to go to electric, did you seal your engine before you done your break in? And going back to factory settings doesn't mean your engine is tuned correctly, thats just a starting point, its up to you to get your truck running properly , ( proper temp, smoke and performance, Hang in there If you truly want to run nitros you will get the hang of it after a bit of time. Read up on the tuning guide on this forum it will help you a Ton!!!

The cold starting problem is the result of an incorrect tune.
Before you start it again you need to remove the head to get inside the cylinder. It sounds like you lost a glow plug filament in there and every time it runs it throws bits of it against the new plug, breaking another filament.
If you see any scratches on the cylinder walls, you've done some damage in there.
Remove the piston and THOROUGHLY flush and clean the cylinder and piston before running it again.

I bought the truck used and broken in from Arizona...what's good to use for flushing and cleaning?
Thanks!

You live in jersey, so your tune is lean at factory specs. After installing a new plug, try setting the high speed needle at 5 full turns out or more.

Some simple green. I dont dilute but thats me. Once everything has been thoroughly cleaned (like eat off of it clean!!) and before assembly lube everything with some ARO or Marvels or even WD40 to prevent corrosion and easier assembly

Well before I took anything apart, I tried to start it up again and now I realize that I'm not getting fuel to the engine...my fuel line is approx. 10" long and the ends look fine. I tried to prime the motor and I can't get fuel thru the line...suggestions for this problem?
Thanks

You Either have a bad air leak, or a stopped up line or carb, can you pull the line off and blow thru it to get fule to the carb?

oring on the tank? or the fuel line cracks right at the fittings on both the carb side and the pipe side and you can tell just by looking at it. take off the pressure line on the pipe side and blow into it then pinch it tight and see if you can hear your leak.

Yeah 2Revo...I did...

Ok. Now set the hsn at 5 turns out and change the plug. It's cold in Jersey and factory specs aren't gonna cut it.

If that doesn't help then maybe it's time to check your engine for excessive wear.
