UUUHHH All I see is bloody thumb. I prefer to still pinch the line. That is the only way I will shut it down. Last time I got lazy and did that my mill refused to start quick. My Mill normally starts within 2 pulls.

i either run the tanks dry or put my finger over the exhuast

NOOP:
there is no best way to shut down a engine its all personall preference each way has pro and cons and the con of stopping it by the flywheel is you can shock or put stress on the conn rod carnkshaft and piston wich get enough as it is

Here is the order by which I will attempt to shut down my mills. It is also the order I 'think' to be best.

1. Let it run out of fuel
2. Stop the flywheel with either your shoe or a dumbfinger as I use
3. Cover the air filter with the palm of your hand (works great on OS type filters when you need to shut down FAST!!!)
4. Cover the exhaust (messy and hot)
5. Pinch the fuel line (I dont like this method as my ride always tries to fly away)

There you have it.

Christian, isnt letting it run out of fuel and pinching the line the same thing?

I Always put my finger over the exhaust. Never hurts or makes a mess. Is it okay to do that? Some ppl say it flood's the engine, but its never happened :bowned: Later!

Never do that man, It can/will send the dirt and dust in your air filter into the carb. I read about that in RcCarAction a few months ago. Just a heads up :)

You know if it is like a stock tmaxx 2.5 filter if you just cover the air inlet and NOT pushing the air element in then you should be fine. The common mistake is pushing the air element in and possibly pushing debris into the carb.

Since I run with exhaust deflectors on my pipes I just pinch the tip of the deflector. Doesn't close it all the way, but it does choke the engine off. Been doing it that way for almost three years now. Before that, I would run the engine until the tank was out of fuel.

iam all with the plug the exuast now just wanted to know what every one else was doing (the pros )don't want to ruin my mill....
should have done a poll
