Just curious to know if the XL should be able to wheelie on a good tune. When I had my truck tuned I didn't get the front wheels off the ground on any surface.

Lack of wheelies could be a sign of a poor tune, dud engine, what?

thanks

what tank are you on? some engines dont truly "come alive" till past a gallon.

The 5.9 isn't as good an engine as the 4.6 on the regular Savage. You may just have a dud, or it may not be fully broken in.

haven't been keeping track of the number of tanks, but I've shared a gallon between two trucks.

I'd say the XL has had about 1/2 gallon.

There are other issues with the truck right now I need to work out and in my searching I found several people who had their XL pullin wheelies. Having never gotten the truck to do this I figured I had the original tune incorrect. I"m trying to get my hands on a CEN 7.7 pipe in the hopes it will help.

Try tightening the slipper up 1/8th turn. That might help a bit. Not sure if you could tighten it all the way and back off 1/4th, but that is how some others are set. (experienced member comment)

by slipper I assume you mean the slipper clutch. Am I tightening the springs, causing the clutch to engage at a higher RPM?
