Been thinking about getting a T-Maxx and try Traxxas for a change. Is the T-Maxx a good truck for messing around and that sort of thing?
Thanks

I'm a noob but apparently I have a .15 T-maxx and when I used to have the starter to start it like 4 years ago it was quality. Deffo worth getting, high grass used to cut mine out though :(

There are good for any surface but are excellent on dirt tracks etc... You can imagine :D

They're worth every penny. Great trucks to learn on, and still good enough for an expert to enjoy. You won't regret it. Just remember, all trucks do break, and will need repair at one point or another. That doesn't mean they're junk. Some people give traxxas a bad rap because they're marketed toward novice/entry level hobbyists. These people will disregard proper break-in, strip screws in haste, not install parts correctly, or want to upgrade every part in sight thinking it will become immune to broken parts. So many people get caught up in the hype they read online. Some will trash a t-maxx based on 10 minutes behind the wheel, or what they seen at the track. Don't have this mindset, stick with as many stock parts as you can unless you are hindered by stock performance (bulkheads/ towers/ servos/ etc...). Stock parts are cheap, and the new grey traxxas parts are pretty durable for the money. Take good care of it, and it'll take good care of you.

Good luck with your decision.

I've heard good things about the new maxxs with the grey parts. but if i was to buy a new rig and it was gonna be a traxxas, i would go with the revo. they are just tougher, handle better, and have more technology then the maxx line. although they are a bit more expensive.

Okay, thanks for the help guys.

Well If you get a t-maxx 3.3 they come with the essenstials that a REVO has. If not they are totally upgradable. Right off the line they are awsome. The good part is they are inexpensive to fix and parts are available through many websites and good chances are parts are available through your LHS.

Yeah, i've haven't been in a hobby shop since the late '80's that didn't have a wall stuffed with stock traxxas parts! Good machines.

Thats why I want to get one, my LHS has tons of stuff and pretty cheap.

great trucks, the engine is kind of a peice of crap, bearings failing all the time, connecting rods breaking, I'm not too happy with the trx engines but i think the truck is great!

like marauder said the only upgrade you would want is alluminum bulkheads from FLM. leave the arms stock they break on high impacts, but they are only 3.00 and metal ones pass the impact into the chassis

I've had my t-maxx 2.5 since '03 and It still runs fine just needs a little fixing up and it's still running! T-maxxes are great trucks, and they're pretty durable, but If you do get a t-maxx, go for the new 3.3 one, Guranteed to have plenty of fun with that beast :D

Like said above, this is a real good truck overall, although the Revo is a better truck, but a bigger price too. I've owned a Tmaxx 2.5 and it was pretty reliable. I didn't break any parts too bad either; just cracked a bumper. I had RPM A-Arms, and everything else was stock.
