I know there are some shooters here. Thought I was going to post a pic of some serious groups didn't ya....

Not from this old fart. I suck.
Me and the 'ol lady went out Saturday. Shot the 1022, the buckmark and my .357. The .357 took about 40 rounds to figure out where I was hitting. Haven't shot it for about 4 yrs. I'm adjusting the sites the whole time. Got it close. Did fair with the rimfires.
Both of us had a good time.

Went out Monday with one of the guys from work. He just got a 1022. I'm helping him with it. Don't know a lot, but I did a few things to mine. Got to shoot his .40. First time I have shot one. Was a Smith, too light for me and the sights weren't adjustable. (sp) Shot pretty good though.

Shot about 1500 rounds this weekend. Gotta love a rimfire just for the cost.
Want another pistol, just not sure what to go with. Thinking about another Buckmark. Something to put a scope on? Maybe a Ruger Mark 3? Then I think about having something that has some knockdown....

Maybe another .357, a .45 or a .40.....

I hear ya with the rimfire. I've got a tricked out target 1022 and its a great gun!

I've been into skeet shooting lately, and plan on purchasing a over/under this weekend. Its going to be a spartan 310s. Its not the best gun in the world, but its what I can afford rightnow.

The next gun I get after the o/u will be a 22lr pistol, probably a mark 1,2 or 3. I've read that yo ucan't reduce the trigger pull on the 3 because they put all kinds of junk to prevent it. Liability issues I guess? But you are right its a blast to go out and shoot shoot shoot!

Glad to hear someone is out there punching some paper. It is still hunting season here in MD so not much time to target practice. I have been working on getting a range setup on the farm. There is an old gravel pit on the farm that I have dug out with the bobcat... which was fun all in itself! LOL I do plan on getting back into shooting as soon as the weather clears a bit. I have a .357 that I just fired for the 1st time a few weeks ago when I was sighting in the new shotgun. Man what a blast that pistol is. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn until I switched over to .38's! LOL I would love to have a 1022 or a MarkIII.. Both are on the wish list. Rimfires are a blast and cheap to shoot!

Hey Dig... I would recomend the .45 if you are looking into a handgun with a little umph to it, but if you are just going to punch paper... the Ruger .22 long handguns are the way to go... IMO anyway. Thanks for sharing man... have fun!

Tom

I am actually wanting to buy a Ruger mini 14 or mini 30. Still don't know which one yet, but I want to get both eventually. By the end of my life, I hope to have a decent collection. Gotta get ready for the invasion. :hehe:

Volquartsen has a trigger kit for the Mark 3. http://www.hornetproducts.com/ViewProduct.asp?ModelNumber=VC3AK

I looked at the Ruger's when I was buying. Didn't have one in stock that I liked.
Found the Buckmark and had to have it. Looks like this but with a gray laminated grip. http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/firearms/detail.asp?value=006B&cat_id=051&type_id=427
Got it for $340, I think. It's a nice shooting pistol. Not as many aftermarket parts for it as the Ruger.

The 1022 has been as much fun to tinker with as it has been to shoot. Wasn't able to put much money in this one. But I learned a lot on it. I'm going to build another. 'Ol lady loves it and the Buckmark.
She is scared of the .357 and won't shoot it. Need to get some .38 shells, just not the same though. :)
Got a little .38 Rossi that hasn't been shot in 10 years. Seems like it shot pretty good? Maybe I'll get it out?

.21, been looking at the Mini 14's. I want one real bad.

What kind of .45's do you guys like?
I have shot a couple of Colt's. The 1911 and the mid frame deal they have. Would love to shoot a Kimber, but I really can't afford one.
After shooting that .40 this weekend, I was leaning towards one of them.

Here is my 45 tauras...This is the first 45 I have owned...Compact and very for giving at 5 to 15 yards...Once you get used to it.I have hit paper at 25!
Ill get a kimber some day soon.

That is a little gun. How is the recoil on that frame?
I hope to get a Kimber too.... Have you shot one?
