I'm looking for a good set of shop scissors.
I have lexan sizers and a few normal sets but an looking for a HD set to use in the shop. I would like to be able to cut paper all the up to wire if needed. Something that will LAST a long time.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you mean scissors?

I've had a pair of Wiss shears for over 30 years. I've used them to install carpet, I've cut roof flashing, and I've always used them for fine paper cutting also. They're No. 20, slightly over 10 1/2" from tip to stern.
They're the only scissors I've ever found that comfortably fit my hand, and that's why they have always been with me. I get 3 fingers in the lower loop.
They look pretty beaten and old, now, but sharp as a razor. I think I've only taken them apart and honed them 4 or 5 times in all those years.

For lexan bodies I suggest a good pair of Chicken Shears from your local kitchen supply store.

Oh, and by the way, I've also cut a lot of wire with them.

I was a little hesitant to recommend these scissors, since I feel you might run with them.

when i was working for Bell, i had a set of really nice linesman scissors. would go to the bar and get drunk for free on those scissors cutting nickles in half. and were still sharp as hell. they cost around 80.00 a set back in the mid 80s. wish i still had them.

I used to be in a business that I was using HD scissors all day long, an medium pair of either Mundial, or wiss scissors work great. The Mundial's blades are a bit thicker so they hold the edge a bit longer but are also a bit harder to sharpen for the same reason. Solid metal construction makes them killer, in fact I have a nice scar to prove how sharp they are even after cutting Kevlar :whhooo:
