Well, Today was interesting.. Bought a new receiver and a-arms, got it all put together. Took it out for a spin. It was running great with the new receiver. Then all the sudden, I totally lost control again (still no failsafe's in stock at my LHS) Apparently the battery disconnected from the receiver when it was wide open, causing it to crash into a cinder block and break the brand new a-arms. I also bent a tierod, and snapped the upper mount on the shock (not on the tower, just the cap on the shock) So my question is, Can I just buy the upper cap for it? I have no idea if the shocks are stock or not, they are not threaded at all and have anodized blue bodies and bottom caps. If not, then what shocks should I be looking for? I'm not looking to spend a whole lot of money, but I want to get a decent set. What do you suggest?

Sounds like a RC10GT. I think you are able to buy just the caps, but you'll have to check with your LHS. If you have to replace them, go with the threaded ones.

Yep, Its an RC10GT, sorry I didnt specify.

Exactly what I was looking for, Thanks Tom.

I would go with the Aluminum ones, as they are tougher. I had a lot of problems with the plastic caps coming off after a rough landing from a jump. Aluminum caps fixed that.

i know it sounds mean but thats what you get for not fitting a fail-safe. I won't even start my car without one. I suggest before you buy anything else you get a failsafe its the best £10 you'll ever spend in RC i think

No offense taken, I knew what I was doing.

I found another LHS yesterday that had failsafe's in stock. Picked up a Dynamite one for about $30. Are Dynamite's any good? Seems to work fine.

Still the fail safe won't fix the battery connector coming loose. You can either put some heat shrink over the connectors or run a cable tie in between the leads.

Well, the battery connector didnt disconnect at that particular spot. It disconnected from the receiver. I think I'mgoing to put a little dab of hot glue on there to hold it in place.

but then you'll never get it back out.try putting a cable tie around the whole reciever. Like above but around the reciever

Nah, hot glue comes off pretty easily with a little heat.

I already have a zip tie holding all the wires (power, servo's) around the throttle servo so they wont get caught in the gears.

Yeah, hot glue is a good idea, come to think of it. Usually stays put as long as there is not a lot of force on it, and comes off easy when you want it to. Good thinkin!

Ya, I was thinking just a small bead right along the top of the receiver where the wire inputs are, not actually IN the holes. Just enough to hold the sides of the wire plugs, and the receiver together.
