shock ?

i have had my maxx about a week now and played with it maybe 2 hours and i have broke the shock on the back right like 5 or 6 times now and i broke the slipper clutch and i hit a crub at full speed and broke it in half lol... but anyway the main question is does the stock shocks on the maxx really suck this much or what ??? or is it traxxas was buyin traxxas a bad choice /

I really don't know how people are breaking shocks...or maybe I'm just not trying hard enough. In any case, my t-maxx has the stock shocks on it and the only way I could hurt them ws by hitting a culvert head on at full throttle and at that I only bent one shock shaft slightly so I straightened it and still use it. I did upgrade the springs to the blue trinitys to take out some sag from the aditional wieght of all the metal parts. I regularly jump the truck off bike jumps geting enough hieght to plant the undercarriage into the ground. I can only guess that if you are blowing the tops off that they were cross threaded when they were put together or they were not tightened enough, or that they were overtightened and the threads are stripped.
I want to upgrade to the big bore shocks only to try and keep the undercarriage from being a road grader...lol

i busted a stock shock just jumping of of curbs i now have the traxxas big bores installed, problem solved. Also buying the T Maxx isnt that bad of an idea but after reading several different POV i would go back and choose the savage, but since you have the Maxx GET ALUMINUM BULKHEADS RPM ARMS TITANIUM FRONT SKIDS AND HINGEPINS that should make it last a while. Add rrp slipper clutch with steel spur, the stock slipper on the t maxx is trash
