what are the biggest shocks i can get and put on a stadium truck?


how do i make my a arms bend down a little more so i ahve more ground clearence for in the snow

Do as I do, light up a propane tourch at 3AM and get it hot and bend it with some vise grips or something. I do this to fix my suspension arms not tune them but hey go for it, pioneere away my friend.

Oh yeah, get it hot but not too hot or it will act stupid and remember not to bed fast because metal likes to break just to spite you!

no joke man, lay off the yellin. as for getting extra ground clearance, u can't really do that much because of the CVDs, if you can get some sliders (like from a t-maxx) you have some more options. u could get a little more clearance by drilling new shock mounting holes in the arms, but u have to be able to ajust camber acordingly, and you also weakin the arm. bigger tires sometimes work but usually dont, they will either rub on the body or put to much stress on the steering blocks, on top of that you run into ratio problems. Will you be able to get a spur/clutchbell combo that will get your powerband back into sync?
usually its a rule-of-thumb, if u want serious off-road, u get a monster truck, if you want a truck that goes fast u get stadium truck, the only flaw there is that monstertrucks can go fast too(lol)
why did you get a maximum st anyway? duratrax doenst have the best reputation...

As a general rule of thumb, I don't mod a part unless it's 1) a really good idea, and 2) won't weaken the part.

There's a thing called fatigue. Bend a piece enough times, and it'll break. And like bashmaster said, if ya want to go just about anywhere, get a MT. Otherwise, run what ya got where ya can and as often as possible.

I love my 1/8th buggy, but it has limitations too, so I know where ou're comming from.

How about we start with this post?

Perhaps while working on the spelling, we could also work on the run-on sentences and grammar. Might make you a little easier to understand.

Won't taking a part to heat compromise it's strength? Kinda like anealing(sp?) metal to make it more pliable?

Ah, bite me. I got your "y" right here, just gotta find the damned thing.

I have no idea why both keyboards I have for this machine occasionally miss keystrokes, and the shift key doesn't always work. I know I hit the key's, cause I'm a "look at my hands" kind of typer (ask SkyMaxx, he's seen me do it). Maybe I'll just post from a Windows machine from here on out.

And I never said I was a perfect typer.

Lost me here. In reference to which reply is this question? Or is it a stand-alone?

Depending on the type of part we are talking about and how much heat you are applying; yes, you can weaken a part by applying heat.

For some reason I overlooked that post...

Anyway, yes. That particular method will also weaken the metal. When something is machined or cast and you do not heat it properly you will weaken it. There are also heating procedures that actually strengthen metal. The term hardened comes from a heat and alloy process that makes the metal stronger.

Sky, I think your starting to understand my humor as this time we didnt get into a huge arguement about it that usually almost gets me banned. Yes, make fun of me! Hahaha. I'm in happy mood,hyper, been in the cold for along time getting fronze and burnt working with that stupid oxygen sensor(get did you guys know running turbos are really hot!)
