hi,

what weight oil and shock springs should i use to wheelie a Rush Evo?

I want to do some ramp jumping also.....how will hard shocks effect traction?

thanks

Mark

i had a rush, and it was my first truck and i killed it, but any wayz.. the tighter the better!! tighten your shocks,, more oil...and do it on a gripy surface aswell, ::spidey:

I would say about 50-70 but I am not sue on what you mean by jump.... Do you mean a foot jump once in a while or lik3 5 feet jumps?

Guys........

I just had to jump in on this one. Soften the rear of the truck up if you want it to wheelie easily. This allows the leverage affect to come into play and helps to launch it onto the rear bumper when you jab the throttle wide open from a dead stop. Try it and let us know how it goes. You may hafta soften the front suspension a little as well.........#30 oil works for me..........and a well tuned engine......

nitrotrucin u have to stiffen the rear shocks..cause when u gun it with soft shocks the shocks will compress like a real car when u gun it it will lft in the front but not lift off the ground u need to stiifen the so the dont compress and the front lifts up.....

get what i am saying hopefully u do

If........

that's what works for you then knock yo self out.........what in the wide world would I know after 34 years of drag racing........

hard shocks give wheelies thats all I have to say and sir if you have been drag racing for 34 years I think that you would know that soft shocks absorb the the wheelie popping motion. Shocks are meant to keep the car level during acceleration and do many other things as well, and having soft shocks lets the cars ass travel easier thus keeping it level during hard acceleration. Just my $.02

Well.......

I certainly stand in awe at all this vast suspension knowledge that ya'll have shared with me in such a short time. We're not worthy......we're not worthy !!! :worship: ..............I guess some folks still have alot to learn...end of subject....Merry Christmas to everyone!

the other two are right about the shock theory, although the drag racer has some hidden truth to the softer suspention set up. the soft srt up allows for the rear end of the vehicle to "drop" therefor allowing the center of gravity / weight distribution to be transfered farther back in the chassis, allowing for easier lift of the front end... the problem with softer shocks is that it absorbs the torque created by the sudden acceleration... (just a little information I've learned in advanced placement physics and automotive suspension theory in automotive technology) your best bet for pulling wheelies is to go to a shorter suspension set up in the rear, allowing for that weight transfer i was describing earlier, but the harder is better theory may not work as well as they think, with the harder shock set up you can also loose traction due to the tires breaking loose, so just lower the rear as far as you can without softening the shocks...

as for jumping, make sure you do not keep this same setup because you will most likely bottom out,.

*note to nitrotruckn sometimes an education can save you say 34 years of experience and come out with a little better results as well...J/K

WHEELIES R US :)

I was basically trying to tell them a quick and easy way to get a 2wd stadium truck to drag the bumper. If I went into all I really know about it, they would be scratching their heads in amazement. Believe it or not, even some regular working class peeps here in the south own some awesome drag machinery......AND know their stuff on suspension as well. Nuff said......:preachin: P.S....nl2377.....thanks for at least giving me "some" benefit of the doubt on this one. Peace ya'll !!!
