I'm rebuilding the rear diff. do I need shims for the centre shaft thing of the pinion gear? I watched a youtube rebuild of a rear diff in an E-Revo and the guy used them so...

if so, what size? bearings are 6 x 12 do they need to be exactly that size?
On another note, do I also need shims on the front and rear axle carriers?

Thanks in advance...

you can buy shim kits from your lhs or ebay I you like ,traxxas don't make a kit you need to look at other manufacturers like maybe team losi or something.
do the diff feel like they need to be shimmed? I don't think I have ever shimmed a traxxas diff including my bl rigs and they are going fine after all these years.
I would replace the bearings ,inspect the spiders if they look burred ,replace slap some grease on there and you are ready to rip.
the bearings are 6x12x4mm they need to be that size for sure also need 2 15x10x4 for the ring gear.

Amain is where I got mine at, just search shims there.
They only need to be the small diameter of the bearing.
