Hi I'm a noobie to nitro still, I have a T-maxx 2.5 that was converted into a 3.3 it ran fine in the cool weather but when I took it out today there were two problems. First off I would run about 4 passes up and down the it would shut off. My idle is set high enough, when I went over to it it was steaming from the cooling head, I can't figure it out, it is set rich, I'm using a cool glow plug, and it's broken in. My second problem is it will rev up in first gear the try to go into second but stutter, I don't think the screw in the shifting box is the problem, I turned it all the way in then three turns out, it still did the same thing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Maybe too lean. Spit on the head, see how long it takes to evaporate. From what I've read, about 2-4 seconds. I think you need to tune it according to the weather. Are you getting a decent smoke trail?

If it "ran fine" in cool weather and you haven't touched the needles since then there's a real good chance that it's half burned up by now. It sounds like you've got it way lean now, in cool weather it's gonna run even leaner.

You don't want to run a cool plug either, use a medium or if it's hot outside use a medium hot. Also when adjusting the 2-speed you only want to make the adjustments in small increments. Turning the screw all the way in can mess it up it up.

Lastly, if you know it's set rich, then you probably have an air leak somewhere. I would look it over real good for any signs of leaks then seal it up. There's are plenty of info on here and videos on you tube for sealing engines.

It has a lot of smoke coming out of it so I don't think its to lean, I drove it again today and i found out it doesn't sputter if I don't floor it. If I go 3/4 throttle then it will go fast but when it shifts into second gear it just sputters.

I would try a medium or med/hot plug then.

And make sure you have a good pressure line from the pipe to tank too.
