I finally had time to play with the Revo and it's running like a champ. I have the older Picco .26 in it and it is giving me gobs of power! The issue I am having is that it doesn't want to shift. I performed an advanced search for Shifting in the Revo forums and found that most shifting issues were either tuning or slipper related.

So I made sure my tune was spot on and gave the slipper the once over...turned it in until the nut stopped then backed it off a half a turn.

Still no shifting. What I couldn't find was a method of finding the shift point if it was messed up. Reading the manual I found you should never back the set screw all the way out. So it sounds like my starting point should be 100% clockwise then back out 1/4 turns give it a run then back it out some more until it finally shifts? Is there any easier way? Starting running and stopping every 1/4 turn until it shifts sounds crazy.

Until you you get the truck to shift that's the only way I know to do it. It took me about five or six times to get it to shift into 2nd gear.

That slipper clutch adjustment is a rule of thumb for the stock setup...For an engine with even more power you have to tighten it more than normal to get it to grab.Removing and deglazing the slipper pads will help too....i have the Sirio .27 in mine and the slipper has to be mad tight to not slip and get the truck to shift to 2nd gear. When I was fiddling around with the shiftpoint thinking that was the problem before I realized it was the slipper due to the washers being razor sharp and dark blue in color I threw the setting way off and the truck ran like I had a high engaging stall speed converter so I turned it all the way in and turned it out 2 full turns and it shifted beautifully the first time out...Good Luck

I was having the same problem with mine and i have a picco .26 maxx and it ended up being the Primary clutch inside the tranny (its what adjusts points and shifts the tranny) i replaced that and it shifted as it was supposed too

I was thinking it was something like that but it is a brand new tranny. As for the slipper, I was slipping way too much at two turns out so half turn it is for me. (new slipper too. Came with the tranny).

I am beginning to think I am in second gear all the time and my setting is way too loose. I believe I will try starting my adjustment from all the way in the out 1/4 turns from there. Makes sense that with the picco I am getting the RPMs to engage the gear shift clutch earlier. That motor does like to spin!

that wouldn't be a good idea, cuz if you go to far out on that primary you will release the tension on the spring and then you will have to replace it, start from all the way in and back it out
