In all of you opinions, what do you think i should do to my savage before i race it?

Lower the CG. Different set of tires than stock; preferrably a pinned or knobby tire on a decent set of rims. Soften up the suspension to handle the bumps in stride. Think about sway bars for evening out the chassis roll in turns. Beyond that, the gearing and engine will need to be set up for the style track (short technical, long winding, lots or not lots of jumps, etc.) Each track demands a slightly different set up across the board.

Thanks sky. What kind of gering should i get for a track that has lots of turns mild jumps and a small straight?

I'm really not a racer, but for anything short you want something that will get up and go quickly. If the track is short you will never get the room to wind out all the way on a high speed gearing set up. So, I'd say torque is the way to go here. Look for fewer teeth on the clutch bell and a few more teeth on the spur. I'd have to defer to someone who actually races for an actual clutch and spur number to recommend.

If you could do that it would be great. Also how do i go about lowering the cg?

That would require some changes to the suspension. My first recommendation would be changing out the stock towers for something that has more positions. The Nova towers seem to be very popular for that reason. I also recommend the New Era towers. They don't have as many settings as the Nova towers, but still have more than one. Next recommendation would be to dump the Savage shocks and get some 1/8 scale buggy shocks. They are shorter than Savage shocks and by virtue of that alone would force the ride height of the Savage to drop. This would lower the CG considerably.

I am doing new era towers and i/8th kit. I am puting mugen shocks on with white koyosho springs. What did you run?

I had the New Era Towers and Mugen MBX shocks with Kyosho whites. I had some other items also. Sounds like you are heading down the same path I did.
