i'm looking into upgrading my steering servo and i want to know if the HS 5645MG(digital) servo by Hitec will work with the t-maxx stock radio. the reason i ask is cause i can get it for $25(new) and new they are around $50.

No reason why it shouldn't. Only thing about digital servos is that they eat the battery life. So I hope you have a rechargable battery installed. Or you'll be replacing AA's like crazy

That is DEFINATELY a great servo for steering in the Maxx. I use that in my Maxx, Savage, Inferno and TC3 :bling:

Can you get the all the time for 25$ ?

Çh®i§tiªñ - i know someone that is selling off all his rc stuff and he needs quick $$$. i figured that i would buy it anyway if it was compatable or not and sell for more if it didnt work out for me. thanks guys for the fast replies!

i guess the real question is will the connector fit to the reciever, because i know that they come with different types.

It all depends. HiTec actually sells Futaba style connectors (the ones compatible with the TRAXXAS receiver) and it sells the other style. You will have to check that. If it is the different style connector, you can get the right connector and fix it up yourself and still have a great receiver cheaper than it would cost you new.

you can also use an exacto knife, slice the poloarity off and round two of the corners and it will work fine too. That is a great servo, especially at that price.

Hitech Servos

Agreed, the HS 5/6 series rock major league
I use a 645MG with alloy steering belcranks with bearings and now the MAXX turns on demand.
I've always said that TRAXXAS standard servos are cheap and crap.

thanks for all the useful info guys.

and yes, the Traxxas servos are CRAP!!!

While your at it, get the Proline steering upgrade kit. A must have upgrade on these trucks... You will be blown away by the responsiveness in your steering...

5645 RULES I have it major torque and faster than the stock servo the only problem is the thing eats batteries BIG TIME! Ya and try to get the proline stering kit also.
