So finally got my new to me tmaxx up and running this morning. It ran pretty good till I fried the steering servo. Is this a common occurance on the tmaxx stock servo? If not what should I be looking for the cause of frying the servo and by frying I mean burned up. Thanks for any responses.

A stock steering servo on a maxx is notoriously weak. A good but not expensive replacement option is the Hitec 645mg servo. You can usually find them around $30. This will be a tremendous improvement over the stock unit. If you have a higher end radio with end point adjustments you can step up further if you want to a digital high torque metal gear servo. But with a stock radio set up the 645 is going to be one of your best options.

Thanks for the info. Just went out and bought a 645 servo. Pretty simple install. Now it just needs to stop raining so I can test it out.
