Hey fellas I am putting my servo saver mod in FINALLY!!!I have noticed that the steering is not working properly as the Ofna MP servo saver is hitting the cvd cup. . Anyone having this problem? I was using the original steering belcranks but wanted to use this since a part finally came in. Anyone got an idea?

I'm sorry i dont know the answer to your question, but what exactly is a servo saver.. like what does it do that everyone likes
 
Well pretty much if you have ran 1/8 th scale buggies the servo saver has a tension spring and special mount to allow a hard crash. It sgives cushion to the crashin so the steering servo is not destroyed. Hence the title" SERVO SAVER"
 
When I ran the OFNA kit I shaved both sides of the diff housing. Now I'm using the hPI cam servo saver and the steering arm totally clears the housing. If you want the HPI cam kit I happen to have an extra one... :D

That was the biggest improvment I have done yet.. If you dont sell it I will take it off ya.. I love that thing..!

Name your price and if you could show some pics of that thing! If I am to shave off parts of the diff housing won't the diff be compromised?
 
As long as you down shave it down to the bearing you should be OK. I left about 1.5 mm of plastic left betwen the edge of the housing and the bearing. I'll post pics of the shaved housig tonight. I'm off to the store to get another pullstart cord. Just broke another one on the collari.....

EDIT...SD I want the cam type servo saver!!!

Get the cam type servo saver from HPI or the one GH sells. The Ofna MP Saver will not give you the amount of steering throw as these will. There is no interference with the diff housing whatsoever.

How annoying is that I just got this and I am going to "upgrade" to that since I have to Modd something to make it work. No thanks. I will look for the cam type servo saver
 
If you already have the OFNA kit then shaving your diff housing will give you as much steering as the HPI cam kit. You will also have to grind a small notch in your steering arm to clear the linkage from the servo.

But...if you don't have the OFNA kit, I highly recommend the HPI cam kit also. No work involved and steering has absolutely no slop whatsoever. As good as the OFNA mod is, it has a teeny tiny bit of slop to it.
 
Oh yeah, regardless of what steering mod you do, remember to grind down your axle carriers for maximum benefit.

Well I tried a different method. I have the Aluminum bellcranks from New Era and just made a hybrid assembly. I am using the servo saver from Ofna MP kit and then the rest of the linkages from the New era kit.

Still seeing the same pronblem. Pretty annoying. I really don't want to shave the housing at all. Too much for a mod. I feel it will weaken in time.

Yea that is a great mod...

Between shaving the hubs, having the cam style servo saver (HPI one) and a 200oz servo, I have the best steering savage I have had to date.. I can't belive how much different this truck is then my last one.. and i thought that was on hit..
