ok i have determined that my steering servo is dead. it still the traxxas stock servo # 2070 which i believe is rated at 125 oz/inches. Can/ does anyone recommend a replacement? I'm running 40 series proline tires with beadlockers so wheel weight is an issue. Also i'm workking off a budget and would like to keep around $50 or less. Thanks for the help !

the jr. z650 is a great servo for around 50 bucks. at 140.oz of torq and a 2 year warranty, can"t go wrong. hope this helps...

Also for the budget minded servo shopper is the Hobbico CS-150 it a digital servo has 193oz of torque at 6 volts for $40. I personally think it is a bit under powered for 40 series but it's bigger brother the CS-170 steps up to Titanium Gears for $90. I run the CS-170 in several rigs and love it. Great servo for the money.

They are hit and miss...I burned though about 4 of them. BAD IDEA for a throttle servo though....it dies and fail safe will not help ya....lol. I found that out the very hard way. They have went up in price....I was getting them for $15 each a year or so ago. I "might" risk it for thirty... but spend ten more and get the Hobbico that is the 193oz and I would even bet it is even stronger than the said ebay 208oz.

thanks for the input, i'll source these suggestions out and try to get my rig back up and running! :breakdown

If anyone is following this, I got the Hobbico CS-150 inst and it has worked well so far. the steering tracks "truer" over bumps and the rig is easier keeping on a line over rough terrain. I think I'm happy for $40 and with 1 year warranty.

Yup that is a great little servo. I use the same on on my HPI MT2ss and as a throttle/brake servo on my baja. Good deal for the money for sure.
