I noticed a rattle a couple days ago. I identifyed it as the second steering servo I had added. I took it apart as far as I felt comfortable, but I couldn't get to the rattling part. It's a traxxas 2070

They're not the best servos. If you have a little extra cash, I'd suggest upgrading to either a Hitec HS-645MG or HS-965MG. Servos are one place you don't want to skimp.

Ok, but any suggestion would be good on fixing this one seeing how as I'm pretty broke right now

I'm not sure what you mean by rattle. Never had one do that. Usually a gear breaks. That's as simple as popping the case open and changing it. If you have trouble, go to the traxxas site and find a servo parts break down. Somebody else may be able to chime in with some more help for ya too.

I can't find a break down or an exploded view on the servo. I found one on a micro servo, but it didn't break down far enough

My 2070 has been doing that for a year now. If it still works, leave it be. I don't know what it is either, but it's deep inside the servo. I would take it off and go with a single steering servo as well. 2 servos always end up hurting each other in the long run.

I'm actually looking at changing the tranny to a reversing one, so I would lose the second steering servo slot to the opti-drive. I know, everyone hates the opti-drive system, but I don't know any other way to keep from blowing the reverse gear

I also know everyone will tell me not to go to the reversing tranny, but I'm tired of having to walk down and pull it out when it gets stuck nose in to something

That's ok, but you could just get a 5309 revo rx box and keep your 2 servos if you wanted to.

i have the revo with reverse and i love it ..wouldnt go without it ;) ..I'm like you , dont like running after the truck ;) ...

like 2revo1maxx said ..get the 5309 rx box and youll be good with 2 steering servos ...you can get them cheap on ebay ...and i also got a new spare tranny there with reverse , slipper clutch and brakes for 25 $$....i found that was a pretty good deal :D

What else do I need to make it reverse?

I've got the tranny, opti-drive, and RX box. I think I need a shifting servo, a sub-micro servo?

youll need the optidrive sensor if you dont have one ...and shifting servo (part no. 2065) with linkage ..do you also have a 3 ch transmiter and a 4 ch receiver ??

I'm going to get the TQ 2.4 4 channel tx/rx. It's 60 dollars from traxxas as part of their power upgrade
