Servo question

several uf us went out bahsing yesterday . after making what i thought was the perfect jump my maxx took off all by itself. after closer inspection i noticed that my gas/brake servo had exploded(top and bottom). maybe some servo tape would have prevented this? any ideas?

hhhmmmm......i havent ever had a servo BLOW UP before. that is interesting. what kind was it?

I also havent' heard of this. An exploding servo hmmm. My only guess would be that the shock from the land was buig enough to jolt the servo screws out. Have you ever unscrews the two halves aprt possibly in a servo case replacement? And just as Supermaxx97 asked, what kind of servo was it???

I had not taken that one apart. It was a Hitec. I'm stumped.

can't you buy a replacement servo case? if it's a $80 servo, you'd think they'd sell you like a $5 case or something.

rob, i wish it were that simple but part of the gears were missing and i tossed it in the can. no one that i've talked to has seen it happen before. just in case, i'm thinking that i may wrap the replacement in some type of tape.

Stretch take that thing out of the trash!!! I'm pretty sure the gears can be replaced. Is the whole servo fried??? Or has the aces just split and a few gears flung out?? If that's the case get a new case, and i'm sure hitec makes replacement gears (traxxas sure makes some servo replacment gears).
