Is there a differance between steering and throttle servos other than torque?
The reason i am asking i broke another throttle servo this afternoon and the new one i bought seams differant. The old servo moved app. 180 degrees, the new one moves 360 and i am concerned about it over rotating.

If your servo moves through 360 degrees than it might be designed that way...or it might be broken. There are some servos designed to move through great ranges of motion.

If you are concerned about over rotating the servo, either replace it or see if your radio has any kind of limiting settings.

Yes I can limit my steering and throttle range. Works great when the motion exceeds the throttle linkage, you can damage your carb and possibly your engine. I would really adjust your radio to make sure that it doesn't travel past its limit. What transmitter do you use? I use the XR3i. Love it!!

it depends on what kind of radio he has!!! some of the cheaper rtr's dont have all the options

it is a cheap rtr radio so i doubt i have a limit setting, is there another way to limit it's movement? at the moment money is tight so a replacement of a brand new part is the last option.

and another question does anyone know of a place to get parts for the alton nitro besides my lhs? it is a traxxas nockoff and some of the parts work well but some need modification before i can use them.and aftermarket parts (besides traxxas) are not very available.

are you talking about the magic wheel by Smartech?

dunno it might be, but all the radio says is Alton and the nodel number. i do have trim setting for the throttle and the steering. can i limit the rotation with that??

Only in one direction. The other way will still be too far. If it's the throttle servo, you do not need a high torque servo, so you can pick one up real cheap. You might be able to get yours working by putting the control rod in the hole closest to center on the servo horn. That takes more servo movement to go full distance, but will also slow down the response time from throttle to brake.
