When you move the stock steering servo over to handle the throttle\brake duties, how big a difference does it make?
 
You will find a small difference in the break holding ability. You may also see a bit of difference in the throttle reaction time. Overall don't expect a huge deference.

Moving the old steering servo to the throttle position is just a small added benefit of upgrading to a better steering servo.
 
I noticed a pretty big difference in stopping power...seemed to by at least 50% stronger braking.
 
Man go dual disk brake setup and I would not hesitate to say anyservo could flip it over forward. I am running a little cheap hitec with about 50 oz and until i adjusted it correctly it was major flipage. X
 
what dual disk brake kit are you talking about? who makes it and how much is it? could you please post a link? thanks:bandit:
 
would you notice a difference in the steering if you swich the throttle/brake servo with the steering servo?cause how retread said in the BIG difference of the two now makes me whant to do it.:sneaky:
 
The throttle/brake servo is the weaker of the two. You would notice a difference in the steering...it would suck. You want/need a strong servo for steering duties. You want strength and speed...so get a good quality steering servo.

The trottle/brake servo doesn't really need to be extra strong. The stronger stock servo that you remove from steering duties will find a good home doing throttle and brake duties. The only extra you get is about 20-30 oz-in of torque added to the brake linkage...this increases the strength of the brakes and gives you some stronger braking power.
 
Mike if you are running stock servos leave them the way they are don't move the 2055 from the steering because it has the most tourqe not really enough to do what you need but you don't want to sacrfice it for better braking.

Hey Maxxtraxx you have to do some modding of the chassis and need some extra parts. Mine came that way when Backspur built my truck. I asked him to drop in and give you a run down on whats needed. X

5-10% I think would be more realistic.
If your brake is adjusted properly The stock servo will flip your Maxx.
 
You be correcting me man!? Bite my big toe. Yah, yah - you had your experience, I had mine. Mine was a MAJOR improvement.

Not correcting you by any means, Just giving more realistic expectations for people that are thinking of spending their hard earned money on a new servo. I would rather under estimate the advantages a bit than give them false expectations and have them be disappointed once they upgrade.
 
Hey...the money spent should be on the upgraded steering servo. Not for the purpose of moving the stock steering servo to the throttle spot. Any one of the three stock servos can pull throttle and brake duty just fine.

You WILL notice a HUGE difference in steering with the right steering servo.

Get a HiTec 5645-MG Digital servo for steering!

140 oz of torque and can be found for under 50$ !!!

Try finding that for that much $$$ made by anyone else. WONT HAPPEN!

Then, take the stock steering servo and move it to brake/throttle if you want. But unless you are running a .21 you should just be able to adjust the brake linkage accordingly and still be able to do flips.

that is exactly what I'm going to do, the Hitec's are on the way as we speak
