can you convert a speed servo to a torque servo?

for instance, can a JR 9000S be converted to a 9000T?

it was my understanding that both used the same motor, and it was just a matter of gears.

need to know...
 
negative. i think its the other way around, the JR Z9000T has 320 In/Oz of torque at 6v. where the Z9000S is like 180 In/Oz or the like. while the motors are similar i dont believe they are the same. though i may be wrong.
 
yeah... but think of your transmission gearing... same power plant, different gearing... more or less torque (ft/lbs)

i'm still thinking gearing, but i want to hear a definitive answer... lol.
